Welcome to the Wealden Postcard Club Web Page. Each meeting consists of a main talk lasting about 45 minutes and a shorter activity, often involving the members, after the refreshment interval. There are two or three dealers at every meeting for you to buy and sell cards.
One of our meetings is our Grand Annual Auction and one of the summer meetings is an outing to a nearby town or village. The Club was founded by Michael Goldsmith in 1985 and celebrated its 21st Birthday in April 2006. We are one of the largest and most active Postcard Clubs in the country and are also very friendly, new members or visitors are always welcome. A monthly newsletter is posted to members. For further information contact: This month’s meeting, Friday 13th January 2012: Alan Barwick presents a further selection of postcards by Steyning and Storrington photographer W. J. Drewett. For Part 2, you are invited to bring and show My Three Best Buys of 2011. Last month, Don Draper gave us an excellent presentation on the History of the British Seaside, a fitting prelude to our Christmas festivities. A big thank you to all who brought goodies to share, and to our “kitchen ladies”, Maureen and Jenny. Alan is still working on this year’s programme and further details will be given here when I have them. Meanwhile, write in your new diaries our Horsham Postcard Fair on Saturday 21st July 2012 – an event not to be missed! |
